Antique chromo lithograph of big cats, rodents and marsupials, 1895

Beautifully coloured chromo-lithographic plate from 1895 with 18 detailed illustrations of big cats, marsupials and rodents, including the lion (Panthera leo), tiger (Panthera tigris), leopard (Panthera pardus), red kangaroo (Osphranter rufus), giant anteater (Myrmecophaga tridactyla) and many more. This plate originates from 'Wagner's Natuurlijk Historie', a book about natural history which was originally written by the German biologist Herman Wagner and translated into Dutch by D. Horn.

This exquisite 127 year old plate is in excellent condition and comes with a pre-cut high quality matboard with a white top layer with a subtle texture. The matboard is acid-free, protecting the print.
