Antique chromo lithograph of 28 bird species, 1895

Beautifully coloured chromolithographic plate from 1895 with detailed illustrations of 28 bird species, including parrots, cockatoos, hornbill, toucan, finches, raven, humming bird, cuckoo, pigeons and more. This plate originates from 'Wagner's Natuurlijk Historie', a book about natural history which was originally written by the German biologist Herman Wagner and translated into Dutch by D. Horn.

This exquisite 127-year-old plate is in excellent condition and comes with a pre-cut high quality matboard with a steel blue coloured top layer. The matboard is acid-free, protecting the print.
