Antique chromo lithograph of birds of prey, song birds, swallows and other birds, 1895

Beautifully coloured chromo-lithographic plate from 1895 with detailed illustrations of 18 bird species, including birds of prey, swallows, and song birds such as the robin, blackbird and Eurasian wren. This plate originates from 'Wagner's Natuurlijk Historie', a book about natural history which was originally written by the German biologist Herman Wagner and translated into Dutch by D. Horn.

This exquisite 127-year-old plate is in excellent condition and comes with a pre-cut high quality matboard with a white linen  top layer / shiny golden top layer. The matboard is acid-free, protecting the print.
